Note: This musical is based on DAS LAND DES LACHELNS by Franz Lehar and Ludwig Herzer. Adapted from the original German, THE LAND OF SMILES opened in London on May 8, 1931 at Drury Lane Theatre, where it ran for 75 performance with five additional songs not used in the New York production. A new English by Christopher Hassall played at the Sadler Wells in 1959 for 55 performances (and was recorded). This discography only attempts to compile recordings with lyrics by Cobb, Farkas, and Graham.
