THE YEARLING

Composer: Michael Leonard
Lyricist: Herbert Martin

Opened: December 10, 1965, Alvin Theatre, N.Y.C.
Performances: 3

A live theatre audio recording of virtually all of the show's numbers survives, which someone decided to issue on vinyl in limited quantities with packaging not unlike that which typically accompanies publisher's demos. In addition to the composers' demo, a two track commercial demo is known to exist (tracks unknown). Several songs were also performed by Anita Darian, Stuart Foster, and the show's composers on a 1965 Lee Jordan WCBS radio program about the show (including a number of songs that never made it into the final production). A 1984 composite demo tape was prepared by the composers in preparation for the 1985 Atlanta revival, and live performance recordings of the 1985 Atlanta revival and the 1995 Los Angeles concert revival also exist.
