Note: Although I am not aware of any recordings of the Howard A. Roberts' musical setting of James Weldon Johnson's GOD'S TROMBONES, several recordings of Johnson's poems are known to exist. GOD'S TROMBONES was also the first part of a double bill entitled SHAKESPEARE IN HARLEM that opened on February 9, 1960 at the 41st Street Theatre, N.Y.C. and ran for thirty-two performances.
