Note: Some authorities credit
the song "Turk In The Murkadurk" as being part of the show's score, no doubt
because it was recorded by the show's star, Cyril Ritchard, and had lyrics by
the show's librettist Sumner Locke Eliott. However, if it was performed in the
show (and I have yet to verify that it was), it was an interpolation because it
was written and recorded a year or more earlier in time. Nonetheless, I list
below the known recordings of that song in an abundance of caution.
Turk In The Murkadurk (C: Susan Reed; L: Sumner Locke Eliott):
1. Cyril Ritchard In Odd Songs And A Poem With
Elaine Dunn, Dolphin (M) 1 (Cyril Ritchard with Stuart Ross, piano) [reissued
on John Murray Anderson's Alamanc And Other Broadway-London Revues, CD/DRG
19009]
2. Song For The Wee Folk, Elektra (M) EKL 163 (Susan Reed)
