THE HOT MIKADO

Composer: Arthur Sullivan
Lyricist: W.S. Gilbert with revisions by David Gregory and William Tracy

Opened: March 23, 1939, Broadhurst Theatre, N.Y.C.
Performances: 85

Note: The show subsequently transferred to the New York World's Fair for an extended run. A London production entitled THE HOT MIKADO was mounted and recorded in 1995, but it employed lyric revisions by David H. Bell. No attempt has been made to compile discological information for recordings of songs from THE MIKADO except for those purported to be performed in the manner or style in which they were performed in this particular production. A radio transcription of the original Broadway cast performing excerpts from the show is known to exist.
