Other Songs:

Awake, Children, Awake (unfinished lyric only)
China Girl (no lyric found in The Complete Lyrics Of Ira Gershwin)
East Is West# (unfinished lyric only)
Embraceable You## (later used in GIRL CRAZY)
I Speak English Now (unfinished lyric only)
Sing-Song Girl (unfinished)
Under The Cinnamon Tree
We Are Visitors Here### (unfinished lyric; music for patter section later used with new lyric for patter section of "Love Is Sweeping The Country" in OF THEE I SING but the remaining music is lost).

# The original 1918 version of EAST IS WEST included original Chinese songs by Robert Hood Bowers, including a number called "East Is West" (credited variously to either Bowers or to Silvio Hein and Hassard Short). Coincidentally, a piano roll recording of George Gershwin performing this earlier non-Gershwin version "East Is West" happens to exist but should not be confused with the Gershin song.

## I have not attempted to list all extant recordings of this well-known and oft-recorded Gershwin standard.

### Since pop covers of "Love Is Sweeping The Country" tend not to include the patter section and the use of patter section can only be verified by playing all such covers, I have not attempted to list all extant recordings of that song. However, there are several cast or studio cast albums of OF THEE I SING containing the patter section in question:

1. Of Thee I Sing, Capitol S-350 (Jonathan Lucas and Joann Mann with chorus and orchestra directed by Maurice Levine) [reissued as Capitol T-11651; CD/Angel ZDM 2435 65025 2 9; CD/DRG 19024]
2. Of Thee I Sing, CBS (S) S 31763 (Garrett Lewis and Chorus with orchestra directed by Peter Matz)
3. Of Thee I Sing, Custom Pressing (S) Z90091/94 (Germantown Friends School Chorus with musical direction by Larry Hoenig)
4. Of Thee I Sing/Let 'Em Eat Cake, CD/CBS M2K 42522 (George Dvorsky, Louise Edeiken, and The New York Chorale Artists with the Orchestra of St. Luke's conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas)
